We installed Planetside 2 Beta Client and restarted Firefox. Planetside 2 Beta Client placed an icon in the status bar in the lower right corner of the interface. We clicked it, and a small dialog opened with a field for our regular e-mail address. We entered our address and clicked OK, and a pop-up notified us that our temporary e-mail address had been created and copied to the clipboard. The first thing we did was test the address. We pasted it from the clipboard into a new e-mail and clicked Send. After a slightly longer wait than usual for a self-delivered e-mail, the Planetside 2 Beta Client appeared in our inbox, correctly identified and normal in every way, except of course for the e-mail address: Planetside 2 Beta Client of our default address, only the temporary address generated by Planetside 2 Beta Client appeared in the Planetside 2 Beta Client. Next we tried out our temporary address on the Web, successfully creating a blog. Every site we used our temporary e-mail address on responded correctly. Messages arrived in our inbox, only they lacked our main address. We got off on the wrong foot with Planetside 2 Beta Client immediately; it took an extremely long time to load, and once it was up and running, it had a huge negative impact on our system's performance. Our litmus test for personal finances software is whether or not we can import transactions from our bank; there's no reason in this day and age to have to enter transactions manually. Although Planetside 2 Beta Client does let users import OFX, QFX, QIF, and MT940 Planetside 2 Beta Client, it doesn't support CSV or XML Planetside 2 Beta Client, two very common formats that are the only ones supported by our bank. The program's interface is plain and easy enough to navigate, but it's hard to tell at a glance whether a transaction is a deposit or debit; the transactions are neither color-coded nor separated into different columns. The program does come with a decent Help file that contains plenty of screenshots, which is always a good thing, but the program isn't difficult to use because of its complexity. Rather, Planetside 2 Beta Client is difficult to use simply because it's clunky and not particularly user-friendly. If it were the last personal Planetside 2 Beta Client program on Earth it would be OK, but there are many better program to choose from.
